Jefferson Joyce is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He was elected to the bench in 2023, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Danny Ellender to the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal.
Prior to his election, Joyce was a judge for the Monroe City Court, a position to which he was named in 2010.
Joyce earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Tulane University in 1997. He then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University in 2000.
After graduating law school, Joyce entered into private practice in Monroe. He worked in that capacity for the next ten years, practicing as an associate at Crawford & Anzelmo and a partner at Crawford & Joyce.
