Donald “Chick” Foret was elected in November, 2020 as the 24th Judicial District Court Judge, Election Section 2, Division H. His term expires on December 31st, 2026

Prior to being elected, Donald was an attorney in New Orleans who focuses on personal injury law, criminal defense, is a legal expert for WWL-AM and the exclusive legal expert for WWL-TV. Foret has worked at the law firm of Donald L. Foret since 1999. Foret has served as an assistant district attorney (ADA), an assistant U.S. attorney appointed to Vice President George H.W. Bush’s task force to combat drug trafficking, an assistant parish attorney in Jefferson Parish, a city attorney for the City of Harahan, and an ad hoc judge for New Orleans’ municipal court. Foret earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Tulane University Law School in 1977.
