Laurie A. White is a judge for the Orleans Parish Criminal Court, Section A, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. She was elected to this position on November 17, 2007 and re-elected in 2014. White received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her J.D. from the Southern University Law Center. White began her career as an assistant district attorney in Orleans Parish. She then worked as an assistant district attorney in East Baton Rouge Parish for one year (1991-1992) before becoming an assistant city attorney for New Orleans. She served in that position until 1994 and again from 2003 to 2004. She was the managing owner of Laurie A. White & Associates prior to joining the bench in 2007.
