Omar Mason is a shareholder (partner) of the New Orleans-based law firm, Aaron & Gianna, PLC. He is a native New Orleanian. After graduating from LSU (Baton Rouge) in 1996, he attended and obtained his Juris Doctor (law) degree from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 1999. He then began his law practice with Carter & Cates, APLC, where he focused primarily on plaintiff personal injury matters, class actions and complex litigation. He later joined Lynn Luker & Associates, LLC in 2003, representing business clients in the gaming industry and others in toxic tort matters.

Mr. Mason is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in both Louisiana and Texas, including the U.S. Court of Appeals – Fifth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. In 2014, Omar was recognized as a Super Lawyers ® – “Rising Star” in the category of Business Litigation.More recently, he was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers – 2016, 2017 and again in 2018 in the area of Business Litigation. Super Lawyers ® only selects 5% of the licensed active attorneys in each state, making this a significant accolade. Omar has also earned an AV Preeminent Rating for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability from Martindale-Hubbell — another significant accomplishment.

Mr. Mason’s current practice with Aaron & Gianna is a conglomerate of the wide range of areas in which he has gained invaluable legal experience in his over 18 years as a civil litigator. He counsels his business clients, large and small, on risk management and the avoidable pitfalls of running a business, in an attempt to save them the time and expense of litigation. However, when litigation ensues, he works tirelessly to help his clients navigate the sometimes rough terrain of legal proceedings.

Mr. Mason has always been active in his community, and throughout his life he has served in various leadership capacities. From being head drum major of the McDonogh 35 Senior High School Roneagle Marching Band, to serving as President of the Sigma Lambda (Alumni) Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., to being National Advocate (chief legal advisor) of the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. (a Fraternal Benefit Society of the Roman Catholic Church), Mr. Mason is a proven leader.

Mr. Mason currently serves as a Director on the Board of Directors for the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is the Chair of its Philanthropy (Outreach) Committee. He was elected to serve as the Montessori PTO Representative on the French and Montessori Education, Inc. (F.A.M.E., Inc.) Board for Audubon Charter School. He also has an extensive teaching background and has served as a skills curriculum instructor at Loyola University College of Law, an adjunct faculty member of the trial advocacy program at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU and as an adjunct faculty member of the trial advocacy program and intersession pre-trial civil litigation boot camp at Tulane University School of Law. Additionally, he is a certified skills instructor with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).

Omar is married to his wife of 16 years, Carla Bringier-Mason, and they have two beautiful daughters, Jade and Sydney. He is a parishioner of Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church in New Orleans in New Orleans. Mr. Mason is a candidate seeking election as Judge, Civil District Court, Division “E”, Orleans Parish, Louisiana in the fall.
