Randall L. “Randy” Bethancourt is a judge of the 32nd Judicial District, Division E in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. He was elected to this position on November 5, 2002. He was re-elected in 2020 for a term beginning on January 1, 2021 and expiring on December 31, 2026. Bethancourt received his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1979. Bethancourt worked as a private practice lawyer prior to his judicial election. He specialized in personal injury litigation, workers’ compensation litigation, and civil rights defense. He was also an assistant district attorney of Terrebonne Parish from 1997 to 1999. He was elected to the district court in 2002.
