Verity Gentry is the 8th Judicial District Judge. Her current term expires on December 31, 2026.

She is a proud native of Sabine Parish, Louisiana. After graduation from Many High School in 2003, she received a business degree from Louisiana State University. For four years, Verity worked in the Louisiana Attorney General’s office under Richard Leyoub and Charles Foti, assisting the state’s top prosecutors. She also interned for Sen. Mary Landrieu in Washington, D.C.

She received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans and was a judicial intern for Federal Magistrate Mary Milloy in Houston, where she drafted an opinion affirmed by the U.S. Southern District of Texas, Fifth Circuit.
